seems like fios set up ont to a wireless router via Ethernet, I am trying to determine if I can use my old arris sbg6580-g228 modem/router, which only has coax port.
my question is
1. can ont connect to modem/router, OR just a router?
2. Can ont connect to my arris via coax? Or I should just shell out to buy new router?
I feel 1 is router only, and 2 a new router. But want to ask first here. Please let me know.
No. That is a DOCSIS modem and will only work with the cable company. You will have to buy a router. FiOS doesn't use modems
