I have spent hours on the Verizon website trying to connect MY KINDLE to my Verizon internet service. I have gotten the SN number off of the router and the same number is located on MY KINDLE and it keeps asking for a password. Can someone please tell me what that password is? I have put in the Verizon wireless password WPA2/WEP but that does not work. MY KINDLE looks for an IP number. HELP!
For a wireless connection you need provide the device your SSID and Wireless Security Key (case sensitive.) You should not need to provide the Kindle with anything else to connect.
The following link provides instructions for wireless setup.
As Walt178 said, you need to enter the WiFi network name (SSID) and WiFi network password into your Kindle.
If you have FiOs, the newer FiOS routers have this information printed on a sticker attached to them. You can also see it on the "MyVerizon" web page. It's right there in the center of the web page under "FiOS Internet". You'll see the SSID listed and the clickable word "unhide" to reveal the password.
If you don't have FiOS, some here may be able to help you if you post the specific model number of your WiFi router.
If you have other devices attached to your WiFi, look at their settings. You can get the SSID from them and some types of devices will even display the password.
You might also find a call or chat with Verizon support will help you find the SSID and password.
Once you get the proper SSID and password loaded into your Kindle, it will automatically get an IP address from the router.
Have Fun.

Can you tell us the model number on your router?
Have you previously connected other devices via Wi-Fi to this router?
when you go to Settings | Wi-Fi in your Kindle, does it show your home network (by SSID) in the list of networks available?
Is your router set up to accept new devices? Or is it limited to previously registered devices?
Are you using the password listed on the bottom of the router? Or do you know what the password really is?
When does your Kindle ask for an IP address?
