I just got a new computer and have a question about connecting my modem to it. Can I just plug the ethernet cable into the new computer and connect to the internet, or will I need to start from scratch using the Verizon installation cd?

Just wanted to add that I am not at home. I thought it would save some time this evening if someone can provide some assistance.
That is the only thing you need to do. Just connect the cable and off you go.
