Constant disconects

Every time i play any game on-line i am constantly getting dc'd or having major lag. there are times where it dc's every couple minutes.  i just got a new router a d-link dsl-2750b.  it took a week of calling verizon just to get my new router to connect to the internet and now its constantly slowwing down so low that everything dc's.  is there anything i can do or do i need to spend more time calling verizon.

#1 While we (the helpers) know what your current DSL modem is:

Do you have another (spare) DSL modem that is not in use, that is not another D-Link 2750B modem?

#2 If not, did you consider getting another DSL modem that works with Verizon DSL?

For example I went to Wal-Mart and I got the Actiontec GT784WNV.

the only other router i have is the 1 i replaced and its so old it never stays connected very long and i live off disability and can't afford to buy a router to test w/ especialy this time of year where my funds are overly stretched

it was doing fine all week than bam its sunday and lost connection 3x by 9am.  this starting to look like a problem somewhere on verizon's end and not my router.  never had this problem til sunday after thanksgiving.
