DNS flaky the last couple of days

I've been having DNS problems the last couple of days - some Web sites (like Wikipedia) come right up, and others, like our kids' school district Web site, and a homework site (thinkthroughmath.com) time out.

Are there known problems with DNS currently in North Texas?

By the way, Verizon's Web site SUCKS.  I went to sign up to post in these forums, and had to wait *four hours* for a verification email.  And even then, it was tied back to my regular Verizon sign on, NOT the userid I wanted to use on the forums.  Verizon couldn't be more screwed up if they were an agency of the Federal government.
