Hi marebug are you still having problems with your internet service.
Yes, I'm still having trouble. I'm currently tethered to my cell phone just to post this. My father who lives four blocks away and has Verizon DSL also is having the same problem. A solid green DSL light, but no internet connectivity. At the moment it has been completely off for a few hours, and so has my father's.
Well bad is never good, until worse happens. Internet has been off for days now, It was better when it was on for a few seconds then off. My father lives 4 blocks away and his has been out also, down to the second mine has. He has been on the line with Verizon 2 hours alone today.
I talked to Verizon support staff after passing the maze of automated calling. Its funny how they can connect me to outsourced "tech" help from around the globe when they can't connect me to the internet in this area.
Between getting hung up on who knows how many times, I have been told theres a problem in the area, to, "No, theres no problem in the area". I've had DSL for years, switched to Verizon for a month and it has been off more than its been on.
Its obvious Verizon doesn't care, (probably because I don't have FIOS which isn't available in my area), so I'll be ordering Comcast in the morning, and I'm sure my father will be, too.
