I just want to get some clearfication. In order to get High Speed Internet I was told I would have to get a phone line with my Internet. The thing is I do not use the phone nor do I make calls. So I am a little confused on how and why I should be forced to buy something I will never use?

You may wish to venture a look into some DSL Resellers for your area. These resellers can bypass Verizon's requirement to have a landline connected if you wish to order DSL service, and many offer idential speeds for usually around the same price as Verizon.
In my area, Cavalier, DSLExtreme, Earthlink and MegaPath can offer resold DSL service in many areas. Keep in mind, even though the reseller will be getting you the service, Verizon owns the last mile and thus will still be delivering the actual DSL connection.
