I signed up for Verizon DSL, but the 1 mbps speed wasn't enough for me to be able to do my job (I work from a home office) so I canceled and switched to Optimum. I requested an email verifiying my Verizon cancelation, so that I would have a paper trail in case I received any future bills, but was told by the representative that this was not possible and not to worry, I would not be billed further. My account is no longer active, so I have been unable to log in to my account to to verify that the cancelation was completed successfully.
Today, over a month after my cancelation, I received a bill for $94.26. I called Verizon and was told that the finance office that handles these issues was currently closed, and that I would need to try again tomorrow.
Can't think of when I have been so frustrated with a company.
