Disgusted with service non-availability

I moved to my current location in NO VA in 2003.  At that time I applied for DSL - No luck, not avialable.  Two years later I applied again, no dice.  Kept applying every 2 years, the latest 2 weeks ago.  You guessed it - can't get it.  They initially tell me it is available, send me the modem, filters, cables etc just to inform me a few days later that due to my location I can't get it - send back the equipment.

The central office is about 6 miles away- too far (according to Verizon ) to give me quality DSL!!!!  There is a local central office 2 miles in the opposite direction that is supplying not only DSL but FIOS to the residents a few streets down the road from me.  BUT I'm not on that circuit!!!  Does this make sense to anyone out there?  I would think that in this day & age Verizon, being the great communcations company they say they are, could find a way to get DSL or FIOS through a few fields and roads to our section of the area!!!

Verizon - if anyone with any say in your company is reading this post.  It's 2013 and technology is available to give everyone DSL or FIOS!!  What's your problem Verizon???

Just like most people find out when they call, the persons you speak to at Verizon don't have a clue as to what is going on.  All they can tell me is that according to their computer I should be able to get DSL!!

WAKE UP VERIZON!!

I feel your pain.....I bought a house that my uncle owned.he had dsl.............when I moved in I tried to get it hooked back up and they repeatedly tell me it is not available.  houses on each side of me have it and they can't believe that Verizon is telling me I can't have it.  I even have the old DSL modem that he had!! verizon is rediculous
