Dlink 2750B Incompatible with Directv

Here's yet another post regarding the Dlink 2750B modem that Verizon is providing to DSL users that have bundled Directv with the Verizon DSL service.  This equipment is INCOMPATIBLE with the Directv Cinema Connection Kit.  It is impossible to establish a wireless connection between the two.  After several hours of useless calls to Verizon & Directv  technical support to try to resolve the connection issue, I finally had a Directv technician come to my home, who immediately advised me that the Dlink and the CCK were incompatible.  What I don't understand is (1) why does Verizon and Directv encourage bundling services  and then provide incompatible equipment (2) why didn't even one of the several people I contacted for assistance know that the equipment was incompatible?  This apparently isn't a new problem.
