I am interested in only fios tv/internet and was wondering if I had to install the battery backup unit. I wasn't sure if it was only for phone or for everything. Thanks
The unit itself, yes. It is an integral part of the equipment. However you wont need it. It only provides power for telephone dial tone in the event of a power outage. So you could take the battery out and it would not affect your service. But the equipment itself will still need to be installed.
