Download speeds have dropped

I'm paying for 3.0 Mb/s, but of course, I have never obtained those numbers. For many years, I have usually averaged around 2.85 Mb/s, whch I found acceptable. But for the last few weeks, maybe a couple of months now, I'm only averaging 2.4 - 2.5 Mb/s download speeds. What gives? I'm in Huntington Beach, CA.

BTW, this could all be resolved if your company would bring FIOS into my complex. For whatever reason, we are not worthy, even though I live in the 3rd most populated city in one of the most populated counties in the most populated state. What a joke. As much as I hate TW cable, I'm on the near verge to make the switch. These archaic speeds are no longer acceptable in today's market.

You might need a new router and or ONT

Check out the quatum gateway and or the advanced WiFi router

Due to the recent change with speed match and other packages you might qualify for a free upgrade to 15/15, 25/25 or even 50/50 at no additional cost

Step one: Visit and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up.  It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace)  might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.

For example this what I saw when I was using Verizon

Step two: Can you provide the Transceiver Statistics from your modem?

a) What is the brand and model of your modem?

b) If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to it: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?

#4 If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to the modem, even if you know how to get the Transceiver Statistics from the modem: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?
