Experiencing very slow speeds.

About 1:00pm Pacific Time, and onward the internet speed drops to around 0.9mbps, when the advertised speed is 7.1mbps.

I have tried many approaches, and have had no luck. My modem/router, Actiontec GT704WG says the advertised speed is 7616 / 864 Kbps. Any help would be appreciated.

If the speed the ActionTec displays remains the same and you've verified that nothing is using the bandwidth at your home (Wireless is suggested to be secured using WPA2-PSK AES, or at minimum WPA-PSK TKIP), you would need to give Verizon a call and have them submit a ticket to the CO to look for congestion, and if found, deal with it. If you can't get anywhere or want to take the most likely avenue of solving the issue, you can post up in the Verizon Direct forum over at DSLReports.com . They tend to solve these types of issues in a timely manner.
