FFXI: won't stay connected

I was having trouble staying connected to FFXI.  After five minutes or less "R" would drop to zero and it would disconnect.  The other night I was playing around with settings and stumbled upon a fix for the problem.  Well it worked for me anyway; so I guess it should work for everyone else having the problem.  Go to the NETWORK SETTINGS menu.  Click it and then look at the AUX NETWORK SETTING.  Under CONNECTION CHECK you have the option of setting it to ENABLE or DISABLE.  The message from FFXI says DISABLE is recommended.  Don't believe them.  I changed this setting to ENABLE and have had no further problems with the game disconnecting.
