Fake Internet Upgrade

Got on My Verizon last week to see if there was anyway to speed up my "High" speed DSL which is advertised to be from 1 to 3 but I have yet to see my internet go above 1.5 on speedtest.net or verizons own internet speed checker. But since Verizon is really all there is on Vandenberg AFB there really isnt much choice here. But to my surprise last week the online service upgrade said I was now eligible for High Speed Internet Enhanced with speeds from 7.1 to 15 Mbps. So i quickly signed up and it said my bill would go up to 84.99, which i would happily pay if i were to get speeds anywhere near that. Got through everything and hit the conformation page which i will post at the end of this.  I get a call on my cell a little while later saying my services and my internet spped will be activated next week on the 24th. So today the 24th I was excited to get off work and have internet speed that  was decent enough to watch HD netflix movies...But obviously that didnt happen because if it did than i wouldnt be here.  I call tech support and they tell me my speed is still set to 3Mbps  and they even see an order to upgrade my internet but there is only a order to add a phone line, they tell me i need to speak to the sales department to see if there was a problem with the order. I get on the phone with the sales department and he tells me "there is no way, you have an order for 7 to 15 Mbps, the highest speed in your area is 3Mbps which is what you already have." SO beware folks sometimes you may think you have an upgrade when you really dont.  Verizon can rest easy though knowing that I have no other option so I will continue to pay for this sub-par 'High Speed Internet"!!

My husband and I just had about the same issue. They charged us extra for 7Mbps and when we didn't get our upgrade like promised we called and they said that they could only give us 3Mbps. **bleep** is wrong with Verizon and how is this even legal? Also most of our neighbors are getting higher than 3Mbps but they refuse to up ours to 7Mbps even though a Tier 2 IT person said we were close enough to the 'Hub" to get at least 7.1Mbps. I feel your pain and we're working on it, if i find a way around Verizons utter bull**bleep** i'll let you know.
