Unless there is already FiOS service in the area, the deck is pretty heavily stacked against you. To an outside observer it looks like Verizon and the Cable Industry have decided not to directly compete. Verizon is buying wireless spectrum from Cable Companies, and apparently sees its future in wireless communications. I suspect Verizon simply sees wireless as more profitable and less capital intensive.
So essentially the build out of the FiOS network has stopped. Communities where the buildout was underway will be completed, but it isn't clear that there will be any new communities getting FiOS.

As in a JB title,
"Never Say Never Again". Still not likely in the forseeable future.

i'm just looking for a company to bring their service here because we only have at&t dsl and mediacom we need better service. there is one company that was going to come L2networks and they offer 1000mbps but mediacom claimed they stole their internet boxes which doesn't make since because l2 speed was way higher and mediacom only goes up to 105mbps

Phone companies currently can rarely compete in areas where other companies are the authorized locals. So if AT&T is in your area I doubt Verizon can get permission to come in, let alone have any incentive to do so.

Typically only one "Cable" company has rights to an area. And only one "Telephone" company. The "cable" companies are not happy about it but in many areas those "Telephone" companies are often allowed to offer Television. Both offer Internet services.
So often you only have the choice of OTA, Satellite, a Cable company, and maybe a Telephone company for your Television Service.

In most areas only one cable company has a franchise. There are exceptions. Can you actually order from both of those you mentioned, or is it you just see ads for both. The phone companies definitely are restricted for TV service. For phone service only one owns the wiring although some funny agreements are made in some areas which allow some smaller companies to offer the actual service.
