Fios G3100/E3200 New Firmware 3.1.0.12 5GHz 2 Question

I now see a 2nd 5GHz band Labeled "5GHz 2" under Wi-Fi>Primary Network with the same SID and password as my original 5GHz 1 band.

I've read where the 2nd 5GHz band was for wireless backhaul for the E3200.  Considering they have made this available now in the router GUI as 5GHz 2 does anyone know if it can be used as a 2nd separate 5GHz band by changing the SID with all consideration for not having any wirelessly connected E3200 or mini's?

Thanks.

The second 5GHz band was used exclusively for wireless backhauling E3200s. Now you can connect devices to it. G3100 has two Broadcom 802.11ax (WiFi 6) chips and each 5GHz corresponds to one. The 2.4GHz, Guest Network, and IoT Network corresponds to the 2.4GHz bands of the two wireless chips.

When I login into the router > channel settings > perform scan 5ghz 2 health is at 5. I noticed my amazon fire stick connected to its channel 62 and had sub par connection. Should I disable 5ghz 2? Or leave it for the E3200?

If the 3200 is connected to the 3100 via a cable....Ethernet or coaxial....the second 5GHz channel can be switched off.

You don’t want to disable the second 5GHz because that corresponds to the 2nd 802.11ax capable wireless chip. You don’t want to underutilize your G3100.
