There have been multiple security updates by NetGear to their Orbi software due to various security issues. Are any updates planned for Veriozon-branded Orbi? I hope Veriozon realizes they have responsibility to keep their customers safe by providing timely security updates to their hardware...
What do you mean by Verizon-branded Orbi? There is a Verizon logo on the Orbi system?
Yes there are two orbi from Netgear.
the Verizon one is simple plug and play with easy setup branded to Verizon network.
the second one is the public retail version which requires manual settings set up to work with Fios. Netgear puts out firmware updates on their products all the time.
verizon is let’s say lacking in firmware updates on any sort of basis. Where other routers were getting firmware updates, Fios green wave branded routers were getting nothing.
always best to buy the public version and not one connected to any internet service.

Isn't Verizon released a new firmware for Greenwave G1100 back in September?
That was for their router. Not the orbi by Netgear.
netgear provided an update to non Verizon orbi mesh systems. But Verizon is charged to update the orbi branded to them. That is why I mentioned greenwave Verizon branded routers. Verizon took their ever loving time to provide the upgrade.
