G1100 router with hardware VPN router

Is it possible to install a physical hardware VPN router and get it to work with the G1100 router?  From what I'm reading, the G1100 will not work with a software VPN if you download it to the G1100.  I'm more interested in using a hardware VPN router with the G1100.  In other words, put it in front of the G1100, or daisy chain it off of the G1100 and get your wifi devices to pass its traffic thru the VPN router.

It is recommended to use a VPN when streaming, so I am looking into the feasibility of using one.  Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can use a hardware VPN router, but sure that the G1100 is in bridge mode (I saw a post about putting it into that mode in here) to make your live easier.
