Gaming Lag

I'm having a lot of problem with gaming lag.  I've run tracert.  I ran tracert on a wired connection.  I've run the optimizer.

My results are below.  What can I do?

So this site is in Latvia. Could easily be another ISP between Verizon and there with an issue that Verizon has no control over.

That's why Verizon (and other isps) won't guarantee performance for anything not on their network.

I get timeouts for cnn.com and amazon.com too.

That can happen if the provider (or rotuers int he middle) are not configured to respond to ping/traceroute.

That is done for security purposes.

Devices are set up to only allow the protocols that are expected (ie http).

According to some searchs I made bovada.lv

is widely considered a dangereous Betting site.  Never heard of them before so this might be incorrect.  But clearly thaey are foreign and the traces fail AFTER they leave Verizon and the U.S.

To add to CRobGauth, doing a "WinMTR" (or MTR if you have Linux or OS X) can be far more beneficial than doing a simple "tracert" or "ping" to your destination.

MTR is available on Linux and OS X built in.

For Windows, you'll need "WinMTR" here: http://winmtr.net/

Run that (usually until it reaches 500) and you can post the results by clicking "Save as Text" or copying from Terminal (in case of OS X and Linux)
