Every day at around 7pm my net goes from running at near 2.5mbps to .80mbps and then it stays around this low speed till almost midnight. Then worst part about this is verizon is closed so no tech is able to help fix the issue at this point its like hmm should I pay my bill. If they aren't able to fix the issue then why pay for the speeds that I'm getting. This has been going on for the last 3 days but hey guess what verizon is closed at 7pm so when things go bad looks like I should just go jump off a cliff. Verizon you need to fix your net you know people are home and they aren't able to go anywhere. Stop being lazy. This is the dumbest thing I have had to do since everything has started I pay for your net now give the speed I am paying for. Or I know of about 200 people that are thinking of dropping your dumb net because of your laziness to fix things.

Likely congestion at the DSLAM. Are your neighbors seeing the same problem? Do you have friends or family elsewhere in town with DSL seeing the same behavior? If it is an area wide problem, Verizon may be able to get the area's network "groomed" meaning, Verizon can shift load across other circuits and routers on their end.
