Yesterday, there was a bad thunderstorm and the power went out. We think that because the power did not fully go out and then was restored, the surge protector fried our modem. What can I do to have my modem replaced as soon as possible?

Just call Verizon or use the Live chat from a working connection to request a new modem. Verizon will send them out without charge.
