High Speed on old Router

Was given 100/100 Mbps from my usual 50/50.  However, still getting same 50/50 speed.  Does my Actiontec MI424WR router limit speed to 50?  Should I get a different one that can handle faster speeds?

Thx in advance.

May of found the answer in an online manual:

- 802.11g enabled to support speeds up to 54 Mbps wirelessly.

Should FiOS send an upgraded one to match the speed they have "awarded" me?

The “G” WiFi standard is for devices that have the ability to connect to the router.

A,B,G,N & AC is what the WiFi radio cards connect to on your router.

100/100 should be pretty easy speed wise. You should first restart the router after the speed upgrade. And restart your computers and devices as well. Best to start fresh.

if that doesn’t get the provisioned speed call Verizon and have them make sure it’s provisioned properly.
