How Do I Set Firewall Parameters

I have DSL High Speed Service using an Actiontec GT784WNV Modem/Router.  I need to set or at least check some firewall settings in the router (I am presuming is has a firewall capability).  How do I do that?

That's the same router I have.  You just need to type the address of your router into the address bar of your browser and hit enter.  You'll get prompted for the username and password of your router.  Hopefully you know what that is.  If you didn't change it then it is probably username: admin password: password.  Once you've done that you'll be logged in.

After you've logged in you'll see entries for the firewall in Utilities and Advanced section, as well as many other settings you can change.
