My condo just posted signs that fios is available ( the exact verbatum is "serivice will be hooked onto existing customers lines"). What dies that mean? I can not get direct tv because of where my balcony sits so I have nothing. Anyone know how long it takes to install verizon fios?

There are two types of installations used in condos.
- Fiber to the unit where they run microduct and fiber to each unit. The ONT is installed in your unit. TV, internet and phone are distributed from the ONT.
- A centralized Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU) install. A MDU ONT is installed in a common area. TV is delivered over existing coax. Internet is devlivered from the ONT via your phone lines using VDSL.
From the statement "serivice will be hooked onto existing customers lines", it sounds like you are getting an MDU installation.]
Once the MDU ONT is in place, getting service is simply a matter of scheduling a tech to come out to cut over your coax and phone lines to the ONT.
