I have a broadband DSL connection that comes in on a Verizon landline. The landline phone that's attached to this line works fine, but my net connection drops out every few minutes. I can refresh it by logging back in, but the cycle just keeps repeating itself. I've checked and swapped the network cable, the phone lines, the filters, and even tried another external modem identical to the original. And Windows diagnostics tells me my network card is fine. Is it possible to have a bug on the internet side that doesn't affect the phone?
I've had this computer for 7 years, but this problem only started a couple of years ago. I'm running Windows 7.
Which modem do you have? Does the DSL light flash or go red during an outage?
