I think it may help for me to post that I am having the same issue with Outlook Express. I am not on FIOS, just DSL. I run XP and have not changed anything I can think of that would cause this. Symptoms seem to be exactly what the OP described. Intermittently and randomly, when I hit send and receive from Outlook Express 6, the box comes up and says "Finding Host". It fails and Error 0x800CCC0E comes up. This began several weeks to a month ago. When it happens, my connection to the internet is fine except for this anomaly. When OE starts to again function correctly, it is as though nothing was ever wrong. Coincidentally, I am using the GT704WG router.
