Internet Connectivity Issues

My modem is an Actiontec GT704WGB, and for the past few weeks everyday so far we have lost internet. Sometimes it happens once or twice a day, sometimes it happens 5-6 times every few hours. It is really frustrating to pay for a service, and not being able to use that service without some sort of interruption. I've tried resetting the modem multiple times, and it does not help. Trying to play that depends on the internet to run, is almost impossible to play. And doing other stuff is becoming a hassle. The only thing I can think of for a problem is maybe the speed of the connection to the modem is to unstable for the line or something, I just really wish I could do stuff online in peace without worrying about my internet dropping. Thank you for your time in reading this. 🙂

#1 Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace) might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Remove that line. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.

#2 Please provide the Transceiver Statistics from you modem.

For your modem this means..

--

#1 Go to 192.168.1.1 with your web browser

Please note: This assumes the Default IP Address, has not been changed and that you don't have any RJ-45 WAN port router connected to your moden.

#2 In the modem combo go to Status -> DSL Status

#3 If asked for an user name and password of the router, enter them in. By default, they are..

a) User Name = admin

b) Password = password

#4 Post the info that you see at that page.

--

#3 If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router, even if it is not connected to anything (power supply), what is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?

#4 If you were playing any computer game(s) when you were having this Internet Connectivity Issue, please state that. You don't need to inlcude the game title (for example MS Flight Sim 2002), or game platform (for example Xbox).

#1 The info from Status -> DSL Status was requested.

#2 That info that you posted is not from there.

Nevermind we called Verizon and spoke with a Network Specialist and they have confirmed at the office that there is a short in one of the line. Thats the reason for the sudden disconnection issues. Thank you for trying to help me though I really appreciate it.
