My Internet drops everytime the phone rings. I lose connection and sometimes it won't come back while the phonecall is on. How can we fix this problem.
Thank you.
Do you have all of your micro-filters installed on every phone? Are they installed at the jack and not on the back of the phone because they only work in one direction.
Also check for Alarm systems and satellite receivers. Any device, except for a DSL modem, that is connected to your phone line must have a filter installed.
If problems persist even after all devices are checked and verified as filtered, a filter could also be bad. You may be best in this case getting a Home run installed. That is, a dedicated connection between your demarc and the DSL modem that will allow you to filter the entire home using only one filter installed at the demarc. Verizon can install these, and if a tech comes out they should also make sure your NID does not have any half ringers installed. Those can cause issues and go bad all the time.
Failing that, ringing phones could mean that your copper pair needs repair. There could be a bad splice someplace that is reacting to the higher current on the line from the ringing.
