Internet light keeps turning off, along with the internet

I have a Westell 7500, and I have had both it and Verizon for about 2 years. But lately, the internet light and the internet have both been turning off. I restart the modem, and see how long the internet turns on for. If it turns off, which it usually does after a few minutes or seconds, then I restart it over and over again until the internet stays on. Just today, I have had to restart the modem over a dozen times before the internet light stayed on. I want to know why it does this and how to stop it, if possible.

I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS YOU.  I ALSO HAVE A WESTEL 7500.   IS YOUR MODEM GETTING EXTREMELY WARM TO THE TOUCH?  I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR OVER TWO MONTHS NOW. RESET AFTER RESET. SHUT IT OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON........OVER AND OVER AGAIN!  GOOD LUCK DEALING WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE........IN INDIA.  THEY SENT ME A NEW MODEM, BUT THIS WAS NOT THE PROBLEM.  I AM PULLING MY HAIR OUT TO GET A TECH. TO COME OUT TO THE HOUSE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IN INDIA TELLS ME THAT THE LINE IS FINE, BUT IT ISN'T.  I TALKED TO A VERIZON TECH ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE MODEM IS GETTING HOT BECAUSE OF STATIC IN THE LINE......A BAD CONNECTION SOMEWHERE.  THE MODEM HAS TO WORK EXTRA HARD TO FIND A GOOD CONNECTION, HENCE THE HEAT.  HE SAID THAT A SERVICE TECH HAS TO COME OUT BUT A SERVICE TECH CANNOT COME OUT TILL THE SERVICE PEOPLE IN INDIA WRITES THE ORDER!!  THEY WILL NOT WRITE AN ORDER FOR ME BECAUSE THEY SAY I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE LINE!! GOOD LUCK ON YOUR END! I HOPE YOU GET BETTER RESULTS THEN ME.  I GET KNOCKED OFF LINE CONSTANTLY.  IT IS REALLY DISCOURAGING.  I GET NO WHERE WITH ANYBODY, THEY KEEP DIRECTING ME TO INDIA, I CAN'T TALK TO ANYONE IN THE U S TO START A REPAIR ORDER.  I HAVE STOPPED PAYING MY BILL, MAYBE THEN SOMEONE WILL CALL AND ASK WHY.  I EVEN CALLED THE CORPRATE OFFICE IN BOSTON, SOME LADY AT VERIZON GAVE ME THE NUMBER TO CALL AND COMPLAIN...............I DID, AND THE MAILBOX IS ALWAYS FULL!!! CAN'T REACH ANYONE. DLS HAS BEEN RUNNING GREAT FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS.  NOW THAT I NEED SERVICE, I FIND OUT WHERE THE WEAK POINTS OF VERIZON DSL LIE. I NEVER HAD GOOD INTERNET SERVICE WITH COMCAST,  BUT AT LEAST WHEN I CALLED, (SOME ONE IN THE U S),  SENT A TECH RIGHT OUT IF THEY COULDN'T FIX IT ON THE PHONE. I REALLY GOT TO KNOW MY TECH!!  LOL

I HAVE BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED WITH CUST SERVICE OVER THESE PAST FEW MONTHS.  I AM ABOUT READY TO DROP THE SERVICE.  GOOD LUCK!!  IF YOU GET ANYWHERE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I NEED THE HELP 😞

#1 Visit http://192.168.1.1/

#2 Choose System Monitoring, Advanced Statistics, and then Transceiver Statistics.

#3 If you need a Username and Password, try the following:

admin/password

admin/password1

admin/admin

admin/admin1

#4 Paste up the contents of the page you see.
