MANUAL BROADBAND CONNECTION NEEDED

after a recent storm, my computer comes on with the local connection only.  i need to manually connect to broadband each time. i have skype and skype recorder which needs my connection immediately.

of course, without broadband connection immediately, my skype recorder will not work.

also, it's a pain to have to do this manually.

i've done a system restore, turned off modem, unplugged modem for 30 seconds, hard boot, etc.  nothing works.
