Does anyone know what level of internet DSL service you have to order from Verizon to actually get a moving image on a home computer? I just purchased a new HP computer with 8gb of ram and 2 tbts of storage and when hooked up to Verizon basic 1mb service I am receiving 0.21 down and 0.18 up and 45 latency on Verizon speed test. And NO moving images. After 2 hour tech call I was told to buy more speed. Sounds like being advised to put new tires on a car with no engine.
0.21Mbps should be warranting a tech visit off the bat if you're seeing speeds that slow on the 1Mbps package. That is unacceptable.
To start, what modem make and model do you have? We would like to check your line's statistics out (with your help) to see why the speed is so slow.
Hello Smith6612 Thank you for your reply. Because the speed is so slow I do not often come to this forum but I am pretty desparate to correct this problem. The modem I am using is a Verizon Model 6100F.
Okay. See if one of these two links works.

If you use a router in between the modem and your computer, these links may not work.
If you need a username and password for logging in, try the following:

Once the page loads, you'll see information such as Attenuation, Speed, Margin, Transmit Power, Data Path, and Mode. Please copy/paste the data you see on this page to a post.

For some reason your DSL connection isn't provisioned correctly. Verizon will need to turn off the "ASSIA" Optimizer, and rebuild your circuit to match the 1Mbps profile exactly. Please call them, or use the Verizon Direct forum over at dslreports.com to request them to reset your provisioning to 1Mbps. Setting the speed correctly should help with the speed trouble you're having.
Your statistics look fine, and indicate your DSL Connection can go faster if you wish you subscribe to a higher speed. Just note that the attenuation on your upload looks higher than normal, and may be cause for concern if your DSL regularly drops out. Usually, the attenuation on the upstream should be half of the downstream on a clean phone line.
