My municipality has been stuck with Altice/Optimum, and are very unhappy. Their contract is due for renewal and we have a petition from local residents who want FiOS.
How do we notify Verizon, to see if they have interest in servicing our community?
Thanks,
R
This is mainly a peer to peer support forum.
Does your municipality have a sole source contract with Altice?
Verizon has stated they are doing very limited expansion (where do you live?)
If the municipality holds the contract, they would either have to have an RFP or they would have to contact the Verizon business office to strike up a conversation.
But the first step is that you have to be in the Verizon service area (mainly the NorthEast)
We are a community about 75 miles NW of NYC.
The municipality needs to sign a new contract with a provider before the end of the year.
Altice's contract is expiring.
I have a petition with hundreds of signatures.
As I said previously, this is mainly a peer to peer support forum.
Verizon has said they are not doing much in the way of expansion.
If your community is not already wired for FiOS, it is not likely they would move in to a new area.
