My new "internet ready" Sony Bravia TV cannot connect with my verizon supplied modem/router

My TV "sees" and recognizes the modem/router (a westell 327W) but cannot wirelessly connect. The modem/router is configured to verizon's default specs per on-line technical assistance. I have no difficulty in wirelessly connecting my laptop, my Ipod Touch, and two Kindles. I need advice on how to connect my "internet ready" Sony Bravia TV.
Any suggestions?
