Just hoping to get some ideas from this..
I just bought a new television. It comes with a wireless adapter to connect to the home internet connection. So when I go into the setup, it can FIND my wireless connection, but always times out while trying to connect to it. Anyone have any experience with an issue like this?
The default encryption on your router is WEP. The WEP (encryption) key is on the service tag of your router.
In order for the TV to connect wirelessly to the router, you must set the encryption key on the TV to match the router.
If you cannot get the TV to connect via the WEP key then you should change the wireless security to WPA2. Its more secure plus you can choose the passphrase (or pre-shared key) to use.
