Originally had an old Netgear router that Connected and worked fine.
Had a newer Buffalo, I set to DCHP mode. Won't connect/get an IP assigned.
Bought a new Trendnet router, set to DCHP mode, won't connect/ get WAN ip assigned.
Shouldn't be rocket science. How does/do I connect an aftermarket router to Verizon?
Same old modem in bridge mode connected to all routers one connects, two newer ones don't..... 😕
Will it's a miracle....the new trendnet just connected...
I would suggest closing this thread, but would like to know what the issue was.....(didn't wait long enough?...)
Most likely it was just the router pulling in a new dhcp lease.
If new non fios routers are added/swapped one should release the dhcp lease first then connect the new router otherwise it just takes a little extra time for everything to do it itself which I believe it what happened.
Thanks...
Good tip in the release first. I'll maybe try that next time.
Maybe swap in the Buffalo just to test.
