New to Fios, needing advice

I was looking into Fios home internet service and as I was putting in information just to get a quote it automatically set me up with an installation date without giving me a total or asking for any payment? Since it was late I called Verizon the next day and the rep I got, though nice, was not the correct person to answer my questions and I was routed to two other people (who also were not the right person). The last one, however, did attempt to look me up and said that he did not see any billing information either, just a, installation date. I'm really confused because I seem to be getting the run around and I do not even know how much this costs monthly. When I try calling now, the wait times are excessive to speak with a representative. Now my husband called me at work and said we recieved a package that looked like a router, do they send the routers in advance?
