ONT COAX OR ETHERNET - Independent Router Purchase

How do I know if my upcomming install will have an ONT connectionion by coax cable or ethernet.  I am trying to decide if I should get my own router.

Verizon has been doing ethernet now as a default. However you did not say if you are getting tv with it or just stand alone internet.

if internet only you will save $12 x 12=$144 a year in router rental. However when you make your order online you select use your own router. Additionally you save $99 for the install via online ordering. If you chat or call it will not be waived no matter what the person tells you.

please realize that if you do customer provided router the tech support stops at the ONT so make sure you know how to fix router issues before you go this route.

also buy a router with AC and external antennas for maximum wifi in your home.
