Out of contract, but can't upgrade service

I've been out of contract for over a year, but the special pricing I was getting has now more than doubled. I was unable to get any good deal from calling, so as of March 21, my service will be cancelled. Will I be eligible for the Fios Gigabit connection at $79.99 or do I actually have to cancel my service first? The best I was offered when I called was 150/150 for that same $79.99 price. I really was hoping to avoid xfinity, but I was offered a good deal from them, so i need to act within the next week

New customer pricing will become available AFTER you leave. 30-60 days then come back. Or you can have your spouse or other relative get service under their name as long as they can pass a credit check (hard inquiry)

if you can get better, I would take it. No reason to suffer.

My wife usually pays the Fios bill anyhow, so maybe I'll give that a shot and have her call customer support to see if she can get the deal.

Not very likely you will get a deal as good as a new customer.

That is common amongst cable and other service providers.

But you should be able to get a better deal with contract than what your are paying today.
