Paid more the amount due in the bill

I just found that last time, I made a one time payment and the easypay also made a automatic payment. So I paid double the due amount last time. Will verizon keep the extra payment and automatically take this month's payment from the extra money I paid?

From what I know, the payment should roll over to the next billing cycle but don't quote me on that unless it's confirmed as true.
