Passwords

On my router, is my username and password to log on to my Verizon dsl service the same as my username and password to log on to verizon.com ? I have forgotten, as I last did this some time ago and anticipate doing again soon.

No, unless you set it that way they are totally independent.  Not sure for yours but originally they were setting the router id to "admin" and usually set the password to "password1".  Most routers, if you reset them, either set the password to "password" or come up without one and ask you to supply it on first logon.

Note that for most routers they started setting the password to the serial number of the router and some routers now have a random pasword assigned that is listed on its label.
