Problem with Internet

HI,

I was using my computer earlier today; and now it will no connect thru ethernet . I am on thru wireless.

My ethernet cable does fall out, but usually it works.,  Is this the issue? I plan on getting a new cable tomorrow.

I am on a laptop with Vista.  Thank you

I get a message Server not found. Try again,  I have turned the modem on and off,. and it still happens. The ethernet cable does have the little part broken off on one end. Thank you

Sounds like you've identified the problem - a bad cable.  When the little lever on the plug breaks off, the Ethernet connector is not held securely in place.  You might be able to make it work by gently pressing and holding the connector in the jack.  If that allows you to connect, then you will have confirmed the cable is bad.

I contacted Verizon last night, and the tech said he would have to get back to me!!!
