Hi!
I currently have the Westell 327w adapter, been running for over 3 years strong. Also bought a 6100G off ebay as a backup.
Anywho, I'm looking to configure either of these devices with a new DNS Server (http://www.comodo.com/secure-dns/switch/router.html 156.154.70.22 or 156.154.71.22 ) and a PPTP proxy server.
I've been around the 327w and never saw anything that would allow me to do this ( I changed the myhome.westell.com to no avail, changed it back ) and don't recall seeing anything in the 6100G. However, I only used this device long enough to make sure it worked, completely clueless with it's firmware.
I've set up VPN's on some of the desktop computers I have, but would prefer to have the router configure it automatically since there's more and more wifi devices being bought in the house.
I know the 6100G doesn't have the wireless option, so if I used that, I'd have to get a wireless access point/router setup. Which would be a good choice for the dns and pptp settings?
Thanks in advance.

I followed the links provided, however my router hasn't had that firmware in years. Sadly, Verizon 'updated' the software, so the links don't apply.
I've taken a few screen shots, but have no idea how to attach them here. I'll see if I can't take the images to work and save them in a winword document, then upload that.

See my screen shot in this post.

Use the attachments feature to show one screen shot at a time, like so...
Above is screen shot one of two.
Here is screen shot two of two...
Inside either of the modems, go to http://192.168.1.1/ . Choose "My Network" from the top Navigation and then choose Network Connections. Choose the option to edit the DSL Connection settings, and then choose the option to edit your PPPoE settings. Under this page you should see options for specifying two DNS Servers. By default, they are set to 0.0.0.0 which tells the modem to use the information provided by Verizon. Filling in your own DNS servers' IP address should default to what you wish to use.
From there, see if you can find a way to test what DNS servers are being used. The Westell's status pages should tell which servers are being used. Failing this, I don't believe there is a way to have the Westell modems offer up the IP Addresses to the DNS servers you suggested, as the modems tend to act as a DNS Relay to whatever servers they are set up with.
As for a PPTP Proxy server, I don't believe the Westell modem/router can do that. It will be able to pass through PPTP connections.
