recently after my old internet modum died on me I orderd a new one. however due to being on vacation for 3 days I came back and set it up only to realize that I could not access the actavation code website. rather Despite the dsl light and internet light being a solid green color I am unable to connect to any internet site. do I need to call verizon tech support in order to reactivate a temporary internet connection?

Nope!
Log into the above page using admin/password when prompted, and change the default password to something you will remember. If it takes you right to the main status page, the password's already been set to something such as admin/admin, admin/admin1, or admin/password1. On the main status page, make sure the modem is not holding an IP address of 10.***.***.*** from Verizon. If it is, you'd need to give them a call as the account was probably disabled for some reason. They can fix that on the spot.
From this point, visit:
http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect.htm (Westell modems)
http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect (ActionTec modems)
On the Redirect page, ignore the warning about the page being restricted. Press the Disable button. Try using the Internet now.
