Red globe white WiFi after outage

Hi - I’ve been using my phone (data) to troubleshoot through Verizon’s website. Power was out but it’s back. I have reset ONT, have reset router several times. I still have a red globe and white WiFi signal. Verizon’s telling me a rep can come out in a week. I think this is something I should be able to fix because everything was fine before the storm. Anyone have any suggestions?

Go to ont. Look at status lights there.

Most likely it is a network issue.

if so, it might come up as soon as it is repaired.

Could be trouble elsewhere on the system.

you could unplug the router and wait about 5 minutes, plug it back in and see if it fixes the issue.

you could also push the reset button on the router and it will place it back as when first received. However this will wipe out any special ip reserves or passwords or WiFi SSID different than the original start.

i would try the unplug first.

you could also go into the routers settings and do a release and renew of the DHCP this procedure is outlined on your routers manual.

Thanks. I unplugged for 5 minutes. Still red globe. I don’t know how to release/renew.

Log in to router
My Network
Network Connections
Broadband Connection (Page 86)
Settings
Release
Power off Router (unplug immediately)
Wait 10 minutes (15 just to be safe)
Power on router

I found this on the google search. Hope it helps.

you could also just unplug the router for 2 hours and it will give a new DHCP.

or call Verizon but they are not responding to quick.

if I knew what "ont" was, your response would be useful but I have not idea what "ont" means. Why would I?
