Hey I was wondering what the process would be and cost rate to move my fios router to another room. I moved to a farther room which my wifi doesn't reach at the moment. I dont plan to add a wife extender since that would be occupied by another tenant.
Just wondering how much they'll charge . Thanks!
I believe the tech fee is $100. There might be additional charges for the wiring. You’ll have to call to 1-800-Verizon to set an appointment and they will tell you the charges.
I wouldn't pay Verizon to move a router.
You need simply need to extend the Ethernet or coax connection between the ONT and the new router location. Depending on the particulars of your home, it may easy or may require drilling and fishing through walls and floors. If you can't run that yourself, it can be done by a handyman, home theater installer or even an electrician. (Although an electrician will probably cost more than Verizon.)
Note that Verizon doesn't fish walls. They staple cables to the outside of walls. If you want it done inside walls, DIY or hire someone.
Enjoy.
