Reset router no internet trouble

I haven't been able to connect to the internet ever since I reset my router. The model of my Wireless DSL Modem/Router is a GT704-WG. Everytime I open up Firefox I'm automatically sent to the "activate.verizon.net" site. I go through the steps of putting in my verizon user ID and password. It then downloads an application in which I can start using the internet again. It runs fine for a minute then a message pops up telling me "Verizon downloads were not delivered. Please select the 'Return Verizon Activation' icon on your desktop and try again." Is there another way to have the internet up and running again. I feel as if it's a simple fix.
