Resetting the ONT to factory restore settings.

Is it true, by removing the A/C power to the ONT and disconnecting the Battery Backup Unit, that the ONT can be reset to factory settings? Assuming that it is off for a number of hours. 

Do not write me parallel universe replies.

No. ONT has no end-user configurable settings. When connected to the OLT on the other end, it is managed by Alcatel-Lucent Access Management System. Verizon's OLT has a burnt-in serial number, you cannot use it for other purposes other than receiving Verizon service.
