Samsung Smart tv and amazon firestick

I cannot connect to my network from the amazon firestick remote when plugged into the HDMI port on my samung smart tv.  My network is not visible, it does not come up when i try to manually join it.  Any ideas?

Some people have  issues with Samsung smart tv’s but as a general rule the fire stick must be set up as the instructions above.
