I installed D-Link DSL 2750B modem/router today,. It was sent to be by Verizon in its failed attempt to correct slow DSL connection. by replacing my older Westell modem.
In the built-in firewall that comes with router , the following entry apears:
Oct 31 16:22:58 2015 | Firewall Setup | Firewall internal | Firewall configuration succeeded |
Oct 31 16:22:58 2015 | Firewall Setup | Firewall internal | No IP for NAT - connections may fail [repeated 2 times, last time on Oct 31 16:22:58 2015] |
What is meant by: "No IP for NAT - connections may fail"
And. If it's suggested that I repair this, what is the simplest, most direct way to do that?
I use only ethernet, no wireless. There r two computers in the network at present...
Thanks

#1 I used Google (or some other online search engine) to lookup those words.
Of the results back, I was pointed to http://data.agaric.com/how-setup-linksys-router-verizon-fios
#2 If you are on FIOS, I also point you to:
a) http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16233
b) http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16077
#3 If you are not on FIOS, I guess you need your own RJ-45 WAN port router and then follow http://data.agaric.com/how-setup-linksys-router-verizon-fios as best as you can even through you are not on FIOS.
Is there anyone running P2P/Torrent software on any of the devices attached to the D-Link router? NAT warnings will usually appear if a torrent client is using too many connections (and this will also lead to a slow connection), or if the connection isn't online yet and a device tries to use the Internet. This can also be a software bug / a cosmetic issue.
looked again at those logs and that error is no longer showing...so maybe hads to do with set up process?
i dont use p2p torrent or things similar..we have few connections running at one... and often only one pc in network
odd thing is those october 31 readings are now showing as december 31..so weird..

That would make sense then. Dec. 31st is the default date on the modem before it connects to the Internet at boot.
